As the affluent watch imagined dollars and cents vanish in the markets, most remain financially stable but weathered and beaten. They feel a sense of loss and a growing fear that they will be without what is so important, money. Yet what comes from the storm’s persistent beating is one of the oldest adages: “Money can’t buy happiness.” We are seeing many individuals reaching an epiphany that is timely, and for some very late in life, that they are alone (albeit successful) and very much wanting a loving romantic relationship. Riding high for years on a wave of success, they were able to deny what they felt on a deeper level—being alone is painful. Real estate, stocks, planes, travel, jewelry, automobiles, whatever it was just prolonged the inevitable. The most important part of our lives, are our loving relationships.
